Phast at Friars Club!!

Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus, the Fabulous Lynne K and Friar Popwell kindly ask you to Take My Tuesday, Please!

Our pal Keenan Popwell is a member of The Friars Club—a legendary private organization that was founded at the turn of the previous century by a group of Broadway professionals.  It has since become a home to many in the entertainment business—especially comedians—and it is famous for its annual roasts.  Last year, Friar Popwell initiated a DJ night called Take My Tuesday, Please and invited local DJs to swing at the Friars Clubhouse.  On February 28, Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus was a guest DJ, with the Fabulous Lynne K.

The evening was a smash, with many close friends showing up and digging the scene.  DJ Popwell started the night with an hour of mostly groovy garage records, and then Lynne —who dished some incredible soul records—traded 30-minute sets with The Boog—who mostly worked a twist groove—until the last hour when they alternated spins.  Here’s a list the 45s played by The Boog:
